  Senior Helpers of Salem

Senior Helpers companions and Home Health Aides hired are direct employees of our company, and not contract or outsourced workers. We select our caregivers based upon their professionalism, enthusiasm, and compassion for seniors. After a full and thorough screening process, we train, bond, and insure each one. Finally, we match each caregiver's experience, skill set, and personality to your loved one's needs. The result is a consistent, mutual relationship so beneficial that our clients say their helpers are more than caregivers - they're lifegivers.

Initial assessment interview

From day one, a care plan that gives you a new lease on life! Our unique process begins with a complimentary in-home assessment interview. We will discuss your loved one's specific needs, as well as share information about our professional caregivers and our services. Some of the topics we cover are:

  • Overview of our company, services and staff
  • Your loved one's care needs and care plan design, including schedule
  • Goals of the service for the family
  • Implementation process
  • Ongoing follow-up plan

Next, we'll work to select one of our professional caregivers who's a perfect fit for your loved one. We catalogue our caregivers' experience, skill set and personality type and use that information to ensure a compatible match. A care plan will be created from the initial assessment and entered into our computer system.

Service implementation

Once we have found a good caregiver match, services will commence (usually within a few days of the initial assessment). A representative from Senior Helpers will contact you to confirm the caregiver, care plan and service start date.

Ongoing Follow-up

We have experienced and dedicated office staff that understands how to deliver quality and compassionate care. Our Director of Client Care and/or Geriatric Care Manager oversees our companion and licensed aides, and visits your loved one on a regular basis to ensure compliance with the care plan. If there is an emergency or scheduling issue, we have someone on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week that can handle the situation. We also have a continuous supply of excellent caregivers who are ready in case your caregiver falls ill or has an emergency. Plus, since all of our caregivers are our employees, we handle their compensation, insurance and benefits.
